What is the Hunter Douglas PowerView® Hub?

The Hunter Douglas PowerView® Hub is the central component of the PowerView® system of motorized window shades, allowing you to control your shades through the PowerView® App. You download the PowerView® App on your smartphone or tablet, which then communicates with the PowerView® Hub to move your shades using Wi-Fi. You can also activate the PowerView® system via voice control through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. 

The PowerView® Hub connects to a Wi-Fi router and communicates with Hunter Douglas window coverings featuring PowerView® Automation. It stores your unique data and preferences, such as Scene and Automation information that raises and lowers your shades to your preferred positions, plus it allows you to control your window coverings from anywhere in the world using the RemoteConnect™ feature. As an added benefit, your pre-programmed automations will automatically adjust for daylight saving time after you connect to the Hunter Douglas PowerView® Gateway using the PowerView® App.

Hunter Douglas has reimagined its popular PowerView® Hub to provide additional benefits to homeowners, making the Hub and the PowerView® App more user-friendly. This new system is as simple to use as it is to install and is reliable for any type of shades, from cellular shades to custom draperies. The improved app offers a personalized dashboard for fast and easy customization capabilities. 

This intuitive dashboard allows for efficient configuration with proximity detection that displays the shade or shades nearest to you first on the list, and provides easy naming and scheduling options. At first glance, you’ll be able to access and modify shades, automations, and other settings right within the app. In addition, PowerView® Hub Gen 3 users can also take advantage of the PowerView® Gateway.

What is the Hunter Douglas PowerView® Gateway?

The PowerView® Gateway add-on provides the best PowerView® experience. You can easily add the Gateway to any PowerView® Gen 3 system to provide a variety of features and benefits, including the ability to operate your shades from anywhere in the world with RemoteConnect™. While PowerView® Gen 2 allowed for limited remote access (users could activate saved scenes only), Gen 3 gives you full control to do almost everything you could do at home while connected remotely.

This new system works with a range extender for larger products, and provides precise shade synchronization and alignment for more than four shades in a single room. The PowerView® Gateway also integrates PowerView® features with some of the most popular home automation systems on the market, resulting in unparalleled home automation compatibility.
